Well it is that time already. Wisconsin kicked off its first race of the Cyclocross Series in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. This was very interesting to see what WI CX is all about. Honestly I still think the Georgia CX Series had some better races. But this week there was also a mountain bike race too, so numbers were low according to the locals. It was fun. For AMR it ended up just being Laura and myself. We do have some new recruits for AMR that will start racing later this month. My race lined up with about 30ish riders taking on the CX4 Cat. The course was bumpy grass and some gravel. There was one run up which was a steep climb and long. In a practice run I almost made it to the top within 10 feet, but it was just too steep. I ended up 24th in the group just trying to stay ahead of the guy who was lapping the field. Laura's race was the Womens 123, with the 3s scored separately. There were 7 riders in the 3s and Laura ended up 5th. Not bad for nursing a wasp sting and swollen leg from a ride two days ago. Shimano the pug was also there for all the fun and to make new friends. It was great to know that Cyclocross season has started! Looking forward to the many races ahead. - Brandon Andrews (Angry Monkeys Racing Member/Founder) |
