Carl Bakker - Wisconsin

Career: Advocacy at Trek Bicycles
Nickname: Rackinator Maximus
Bike of Choice: Trek 920
Biography: Growing up in Iowa meant no mountain biking (see: flat as a pancake and: everything-green-is-a-farm), and no road biking (see: shoulderless roads and: aggressive hillbillies in trucks). Fortunately, though, gravel was abundant. Like, "75% of all roads and over 77,000 miles" abundant. Marathon runner-turned-injured dude with a huge endurance tank, unsupported gravel racing was the natural progression. Having moved to Wisconsin, where there are actually forests and singletrack, I've started picking up a few mtb skills...though most of the time I'm in the woods is still spent running, hiking, or camping.
Beyond all that, my life is highlighted by my involvement with the Church, opportunities to be a cycling advocate at various events, and especially my status as "honorary soccer dad" (my girlfriend coaches).
