Race Report by Brandon Andrews- Well I figured out a few things this week. One being I need to ride my bike more, two-traveling all week does not help racing. I have been in Mexico for work all week and got back Friday night. Sundays race really was just to be quick before I flew out Sunday afternoon. Laura was also sick so she decided not to race. So needless to say I was not very motivated to race well with a belly full of strange Mexican foods and no energy. The race course itself was very cool, just long climbs that I was not good at. It reminded me of a number of the courses in Georgia. This is also the same venue that Nationals were held at last year. We did not have the snow mud that they did though. It was very nice day. The course featured a few bunny hops over logs an smaller barriers, something that I really enjoyed. Kathleen was going to race, but I think my performance and the fact that no one felt good talked her out of it. Again long climbs gave room for the roadies to just pull away. 24th out 31 finishers. Not great, not good, but done. - Race Report by Brandon Andrews Race Report by Brandon Andrews- Ever wondered what happens when you have a little bit of rain and then the next day you race on a golf course. Surprisingly it held up better than I first thought it would. The only Exception was the greenway where we crossed. It is now destroyed. Bring The Noyz Cross was just outside of Milwaukee, Wi. Laura and I traveled to go race and decide if we really wanted to race both days. The wet grass just sucked the life out of both of us. I ended up placing 19th out of the 29 finishers. The course had some good twists but nothing very exciting. I battled with a few guys until dropping one and be dropped by the other. Still any day even a bad day in cross is better than just a bad day. Laura also felt the frustrations of the grass. She ended up 6th out of the 6 CX3 Women. We are still trying to find out where all the other racers she has been beating have gone? The day was nice, again just as we left a storm hit. I really feel bad for the Pro Mens races and the storms they keep having to race in. -Race Report by Brandon Andrews |
